As a condition of our world, it’s likely that you have been forced to look around at your life and wonder if that’s all there is. Your efforts so far seem to have been in vain, which can cause you to discount yourself, your accomplishments, and your destiny. That’s because you’re a human being. All of us have felt this way from time to time. Sure, there will be days when your best doesn’t seem good enough to you or anyone else, but what if your best is just fine?
Coming to terms with your true self can help you acknowledge the awesome person you are while allowing you to live the life you came here to live. Your background, unique skills, talents, and knowledge have converged to create a person who has never been and will never be in the future. No one else has your individual talents, and the world would be missing something special without you.
Accepting yourself for who you truly are can also boost your confidence and help you take advantage of your innate skills for your own benefit and that of others as well.

Try these strategies to achieve contentment with the skin you’re in:
1. Know that you are special.
You’re special. No one else will ever be able to see the world the same way you do because no one will ever have your same viewpoint. Isn’t that beautiful? You are a beautiful, intentional creation sent here to add your uniqueness.
2. Look at the bright side.
The grass is always greener somewhere else. However, if you were to dump all of your problems in a pile alongside those you envy, you’d probably want to snatch yours back after seeing theirs. But if you take a moment to look at the circumstances of others who are “less blessed” than you are, you’ll realize that there is actually a bright side to your life.
- Do you know anyone who has been out of work for so long with no prospects?
- Do you know anyone who has lost a loved one recently?
- Look around; how many houseless neighbors do you see near freeways and at major intersections?
It can always be worse.
3. Consider your accomplishments.
Remember that the person who has those accomplishments is the true you – you did it with your own strength, abilities, and sensibilities. You’re a winner in your own right by merit of what you’ve accomplished, and no one can take those victories away from you. Always remember that you, the person who was born to do amazing things, have acomplished a lot so far. You’ve won already in so many areas of life. When hard times come, remember that you have faced down worse and survived, for the better. Celebrate your accomplishments and use that as fuel for your next amazing leap.
4. Avoid underestimating yourself.
One root behavior that could be leading you to feel less confident could come from you underestimating yourself. It’s possible that you don’t have what you want because you haven’t really tried to get it! Instead of wasting time envying someone else’s success, why not start to think about how you can do the same? In fact, why not take the time to ask the other person how they got where are? Doing so could show real humility and result in a quicker outcome. Be sure to create SMART goals to help you there.
Stop and consider that there’s really nothing separating you from your goals because you have what it takes to work towards them.
You were uniquely created with the talents and skills to have a fulfilling life. But, you must always remember that the universe mirrors back what you’ve put out there, be it effort, joy, abundance, or their opposites. Be powerful enough to make the life for yourself that only you can design and achieve!
